Wall Hanging
Materials Needed
A wooden dowel or a sturdy stick Yarn,
twine or strips of fabric
Scissors
beads,
feathers or dried flowers Glue gun or fabric glue
Instructions for Making a Simple Wall Hanging
Prepare the Base
- Use a wooden dowel or natural stick (a recycled hanger will also work).
- Cut yarn or fabric strips to the desired length.
- Attach Yarn or Fabric
- Bend each piece of yarn into half and loop it around the dowel with a lark’s head knot (To use a lark’s head knot, loop the folded end over the stick and pull the loose ends through).
- Continue until the entire dowel has been covered.
- Create a Design
- Cut the ends of the fabric or yarn to a V-shape, a standard diagonal or layered effect.
- Use the added pieces to attach and incorporate beads, feathers or dried flowers to the hanging pieces to use as additional decorative pieces.
- Secure the Hanging String
- Cut a piece of twine or yarn and tie it to both ends of the dowel.
- Fluff and adjust the fabric or yarn to visually appear organized.
- Place your new eco-friendly wall décor on a hook or nail.
